First Mission
Alice was sleeping peacefully in her newly designated room aboard the Golden Horizon. The room was five feet wide, seven feet long and seven feet high with a single bed bunk occupying three feet of the room’s width. In the back of the room was a closet with a sliding door that lifted into the celling giving a space the same height and width of the room but only two feet long. Just in front of the closet was a one foot cubic box containing a number of items such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, hair brush, soap, shampoo, towel, a tube of deodorant, wallet and the key that belonged to her Aunt and Uncle’s apartment. Alice’s room was the last room on the right of the bunk hall which had five bunks in all for each of the crew members as well as a bathroom at the end. Alice awoke to the sound of a knock on the metal door of her room.
Herostalker: (through the door) Alice would you like some breakfast?
Alice: Yes please.
Herostalker: Phillownious is serving breakfast for us in the common room if there’s anything you would like just come down and let him know what you want.
Alice: Alright I’ll see you there.
Alice got dressed and made her way into the common room where Bandit was sitting to the right of the circular table picking bacon from his plate to toss into his mouth, Otto sitting on the opposite side of the table quietly eating a plate of pancakes, and Herostalker sitting at the left side of the table eating fried eggs with toast.
Phillownious: Good morning Miss Alice. Is there anything I may get you for breakfast?
Alice: Do you have any French toast?
Phillownious: I shall prepare it for you post haste Miss Alice.
Phillownious went into the left green door known as the kitchen wing to work immediately on the French toast.
Alice: So Phillownious does all the cooking and cleaning?
Herostalker: Originally I wanted to have him as my personal doctor while I was lying low working at a foster house. But he also learned edict and manners from the head proprietor. Phillownious knows several ways how to reduce bleeding and serve tea.
Bandit: Yeah the monkey got a quick course med-school and sped through butler 101.
Herostalker: The purpose of having Phillownious as my doctor is that dimensional wanderers have a very… different physiology from humans. Everything in terms of bones and organs is the same but if our blood was to be examined local physicians would find abnormal immunity enzymes that to them should not exist.
Alice: An abnormal immunity?
Herostalker: Yes, you see dimensional wanderers have traveled to numerous worlds over many centuries requiring us to evolve necessary immunity to diseases in each world. A cold from your world is different from a cold found in another world. To counteract the various diseases in all their varying forms dimensional wanderers evolved an all-encompassing immune system.
Alice: That sounds amazing but what about other people traveling to different dimensions? How would you keep me and Otto from getting sick by diseases were not familiar with?
Herostalker: I actually came up with an answer for that back when Phillownious was my first guest to the Golden Horizon.
Herostalker reached a hand into one of the compartments of his utility belt and brought out a small syringe with a glowing orange liquid.
Herostalker: This is a concentration of what gives dimension wanderers immunity to any and all diseases.
Bandit: Going to go out on a limb here and say that thing might have a big “If” on working.
Alice: What do you mean?
Herostalker: It has a one in millionth compatibility rate of a normal immune system. Otherwise it’s flooding your system with diseases from every world imaginable… Well we could just settle for the alternative.
Alice: What alternative?
Herostalker: Bandit has a container of nanites which are programed to restore a subject back to peak physical condition. They were crucial during his time-
Bandit: (slamming knife through plate) Say another word and you’ll really need a doctor!
The room fell silent until Phillownious entered the room with Alice’s French toast.
Phillownious: You’re French toast Miss Alice. May I assume you are done with your plate Sir Bandit?
Bandit pulled up the knife still embedded in the plate which Phillownious pulled off.
Alice: So… the nanites work?
Bandit: Yes. It can put you back to normal in about the same amount of time it took to get injured in the first place.
Herostalker: How about we decide what medical methods will be needed after we figure out where were going next. B.E.N.D?
Just then a golden sphere the size of a basketball descended from the ceiling on a metal cable. The sphere had a green lens three inches in diameter pointed toward Herostalker.
B.E.N.D: What now flesh bag?
Herostalker: B.E.N.D have you been able to decipher the travel data from the robot head?
Alice: Bend?
Bandit: Belligerent, Electronic, Navigation, Devise. Hero calls it B.E.N.D I call it annoying.
B.E.N.D: The flesh bag with a thing against robots doesn’t like the A.I? Shocking.
An electrical cord coaled down from the ceiling with the end being level to B.E.N.D giving off a few sparks. Bandit responded by scrapping his knife along the metal table while growling.
Herostalker: Enough already break it up you two! B.E.N.D did the data from the robot head have the travel itinerary of Mr. Anonymous’ dimension travels?
B.E.N.D: Yes.
Herostalker: Where is Mr. Anonymous going next?
B.E.N.D: Thanjavur India Earth 643.
Alice: (between bites of French toast) What’s in Thanjavur India?
Herostalker: Much like earth prime Thanjavur is a cultural center promoted by the Indian government to preserve their culture and heritage with land marks like the Brihadeeswarar Temple built by Chola king Raja Raja Chola I in the eleventh century.
Alice: “Earth Prime”?
Herostalker: the designation of what would be your world.
The crew finished their breakfast and followed Herostalker up the spiral staircase to the purple door which inside resembled a plane cockpit with five seats. Herostalker took the pilots seat, Otto sat behind Herostalker, Phillownious sat just to the right of Otto, Bandit sat in the rear right, and Alice sat in the front right.
Herostalker: B.E.N.D set course for earth 643. Destination, Thanjavur India.
The windows showed a view of the street before slowly rising into the air until they were above the buildings then flying over at increasing speeds until everything appeared to look like a rainbow kaleidoscope. Then for a few secants everything became dark before a bright flash of light shined forth. When the light faded they found they were outside the Brihadeeswarar temple on green grass just a few feet away from a row of shrubs next to a stone walkway.
Herostalker: Wherever you go there you are. Alright cloaking field is active and operational.
Alice: Cloaking field?
Bandit: Hero made it so no one can see where we parked this thing. But wouldn’t parking outside of town have been a better idea?
B.E.N.D: You’re in the world, you’re at the city, there’s a lake a little distance away I could have landed in so don’t complain about placement.
Herostalker: As long as we can go about unnoticed I’m not complaining. Phillownious stay with the ship and wait for us to call asking to come back in.
Phillownious: Very well sir.
Herostalker pushed a button on the dashboard to revel a compartment carrying what looked like five black covered smartphones and tossed them out to the crew.
Herostalker: These are your communicators. They function just like regular phones between themselves with the ability to communicate across dimensions but cannot call other phones.
After receiving their communicators Herostalker, Bandit, Otto and Alice exited the ship. In just a short distance from the temple was a bus station where the team waited for the next bus. Once the next bus pulled up they got onboard and they filled into the back.
Herostalker: Alright we take the bus towards the market district then we split up and look for any sign of Mr. Anonymous or anything… unusual.
Herostalker trailed off before lunging up for the emergency break and running to the bus exit.
Bandit: Come on! He must be onto something!
Bandit, Alice and Otto quickly followed Herostalker off the bus and onto the side of the road where a truck had parked with two men next to a dead cow.
Herostalker: What happened here?
First man: Another cow has been attacked by the wild creature terrorizing our city.
Herostalker: How long has this been going on?
Secant man: With this kill from last night it has been going on for just barely a month.
Herostalker: May my associates and I have a closer look please?
First man: Sorry but the superintendent ordered us to contain these incidences. This means collecting the bodies and making sure people don’t see them.
Herostalker: I understand.
Herostalker then pulled out a silver revolver pointing it at the workers firing a purple gas causing them to fall asleep.
Alice: What was that?
Herostalker: That’s my elemental pistol. I just used the sleep touch from the dark setting. They’ll awaken in a few hours feeling well rested.
Alice: Dark setting how many settings are there?
Herostalker: Six. Dark, Earth, Water, Light, Wind, and Fire. Each setting has three different projectile options.
Bandit: Some of them are ok I just wish you would go more aggressive using that thing.
Herostalker: We only need them incapacitated to examine this cow. (Leaning closer to cow) Bandit you’re going to want to see this.
Herostalker pointed to a series of claw marks wide apart from one another.
Alice: What could have done something like that?
Herostalker + Bandit: Werewolf.
Alice: Werewolf?
Herostalker: Even a man who is pure in heart and says his prayers by night may become a wolf when the moon is full.
Alice: so was there a full moon last night?
Herostalker: This world’s moon is just like Earth prime’s moon, phases and all. Meaning the full moon isn’t until tomorrow night.
Alice: But didn’t you say werewolves only come out during full moons?
Bandit: Not if it’s one that was recently bitten. Werewolves come from people being bitten by other werewolves. Between when they were bitten and the next full moon the victim becomes more wolf-like every night. Learning its hunting skills, ways to kill its prey, and establish a hunting ground.
Herostalker: It’s possible Mr. Anonymous brought the young werewolf here from another dimension and let it loose on the city. Later when the werewolf becomes a large enough threat to the city he would introduce himself as a monster slayer and ask for a fee to catch the creature.
Alice: Cause a problem and then be payed to remove the same problem. It’s completely devoid of morals but in a twisted way sounds brilliant.
Bandit: Sounds like Anonymous’ M.O but something doesn’t add up to me.
Herostalker: Anonymous has had this going on for a month. If we can get to the Superintendent before he does we can put a stop to his scheme.
Herostalker slapped his hands together and several poofs of smoke erupted in front of him. Once the smoke cleared there were several doppelgangers of Herostalker standing where the smoke had been.
Herostalker: Gentlemen your mission is to find the location of the Superintendent’s office. Time of the essence, so we must act fast.
Herostalkers: Yes sir!
The Herostalkers then ran off toward town dispersing in different directions.
Herostalker: They’ll search the city for the Superintendent’s office and what they find I’ll know about.
Alice: How did you?
Herostalker: Oh how rude of me. Apart from standard wanderer given abilities I can also borrow abilities from individuals I have met in other dimensions. You just saw me use self-cloning. I also have one minute of water-canises, forty-five minutes of heat vision, five minutes of stealth, and twenty-three minutes of controlling machinery.
Alice: Can Bandit do any of that?
Herostalker: No his abilities don’t include borrowing, but he can learn about an items function very quickly. Aside from that-
Bandit: I prefer to use weapons.
The team proceeded into town and was able to know the way to the Superintendent’s office thanks to Herostalker’s clones which managed to find it in ten minutes. As they entered the building the receptionist eyed Herostalker slightly startled.
Herostalker: I’m guessing you have seen me recently? (The receptionist quietly nodded) I thought as much. We need to speak with the superintendent. We know what has been causing trouble in the city and we know how to fix it.
The receptionist used a speaker to contact the superintendent of the guests to see him. Bandit quickly looked around the waiting room looking for any sign that Mr. Anonymous was there yet the room was empty except for them. Bandit growled as he stormed toward the superintendent’s office with one hand reaching into his hoody to grasp at one of the two Glocks. With a kick from his heavy booted foot Bandit slammed the door wide open. Inside the superintendent wearing a dark blue suit and black turban looked up from his desk while the deputy superintendent standing next to the desk wearing a grey suit and red turban gasped.
Superintendent: What is the meaning of this?
Bandit: Where’s Mr. Anonymous!?
Herostalker: Bandit calm down he’s not here.
Bandit: Grrrrr!
Herostalker: Superintendent we are here because we know you have a problem in your city.
Superintendent: It is not difficult to find out. Cows are being killed every night, the city is under a strict curfew after dark, and our tourism is being scared off.
Herostalker: We have reason to believe your town is being plagued by a creature of supernatural nature.
Deputy Superintendent: What makes you say that?
Bandit: We’ve seen stuff like this before and we know how to deal with it.
Herostalker: We are prepared and able to eliminate this danger. We simply wanted to inform you of our actions.
Bandit: and maybe ask for something in return.
Deputy Superintendent: I am afraid our city cannot offer much in terms of an award for your services.
Superintendent: They are the first people to come forward and say they know what this thing is. If you can stop this creature I will be prepared to pay you any amount out of my own pocket.
Bandit: Cool.
Deputy Superintendent: In that case I would like to offer you my home as a place for you to stay this evening.
Herostalker: We are grateful for your hospitality.
The deputy Superintendent excused himself for the day so as to show the team to his home. As they got into the deputy superintendents car Alice sat in the front passenger seat while Herostalker, Bandit, and Otto sat in the back.
Herostalker: Perhaps it would be best if we shared some of our names. I go by Herostalker, the aggressive one is called Bandit, and our associates are Alice and Otto.
Deputy Superintendent: My name is Devadas it is a pleasure to meet you all.
Herostalker: Devadas, the name meaning “servant of the gods”?
Devadas: Yes, when I was born my parents wanted me to become a holy man but I chose to serve my cities government instead.
Alice: It must have been hard to follow your ideas that went against your parents’ wishes.
Devadas: For a time it was… but it has been so long sense I have prayed.
Herostalker: Hopefully we can remedy the biggest concern to your office.
Devadas: If I may ask… what do you intend to do to the creature?
Bandit: Kill it.
Devadas: Are you sure? I have heard of other attempts against the creature but none cussed.
Bandit: They probably haven’t tried silver bullets. One of those through its heart will guarantee to kill it.
The remainder of the car ride was in silence until they came to a white mansion. They walked through the courtyard towards the large gates.
Herostalker: Your home?
Devadas: Yes, for me and my family. Come I wish for you to meet the two people I want you to protect most.
They entered a luxurious sitting room with open doorways with blue curtains leading to a flower garden and furnished by red lounge chairs. Entering from the garden was a Caucasian woman with long brown curly hair wearing a green and purple sari over an orange tunic along with a small light brown girl wearing an orange sari around her waist and a green tunic. The little girl hugged Devadas by his legs while the woman gave him a light kiss.
Devadas: Darling these are a group of travelers who have agreed to help the city with its… troubles. This is my wife Hellen and my daughter Amala.
Herostalker: It is a pleasure to meet you miss.
Devadas: They will be our guest this evening.
Hellen: I shall see that the cook knows of our company for dinner.
Hellen stepped out of the room while everyone else took a seat among some of the couches arranged around a tea table. Devadas and Amala sat on one three seater while Herostalker, Bandit and Alice sat one the identical couch on the other side and Otto took to a singular chair just to the side of the rest of the team.
Amala: Why did you grow such a funny mustache?
Herostalker: Oh I like to think less of just growing it and more of earning it. This one time when I was hiking through the Himalayas I came across a creature that had a similar appearance. In exchange for parting ways in peace the creature granted me the gift of this mustache under my nose.
Amala giggled while Bandit leaned over toward Herostalker’s ear.
Bandit: Where did you come up with that sappy story?
Herostalker: There’s no need to drag children into our grim deeds Bandit.
Devadas: So how far have you traveled?
Herostalker: Lost count.
Bandit: Classified.
Alice: They picked me up in North America before traveling this way.
Devadas: and what of your large friend, Otto?
Otto: … eh.
Herostalker: We found him off the coast of a small island and he’s just a little shy around company.
Bandit: As well as acquaintances, passer-byes, and new introductions.
Devadas: you made mention of someone else back at the Superintendent’s office, who is this Mr. Anonymous?
Herostalker: Someone we have been trying to find for a long time.
At that moment Hellen walked back into the room and informed everyone that dinner had been served. The dinner consisted of pita bread, rice with bean sauce, a mixed vegetable stew, and tea.
Herostalker: This has been just lovely. Are all you guys enjoying the food as well.
Alice: Yes, thank you. This has probably been my first time outside the United States.
Hellen: You’re from the United States? It’s been a long time sense I talked with someone from that part of the world. What state are you from?
Alice: I grew up in Minnesota before moving out to California where I meet these three.
Hellen: There’s always something special about the people you meet when you’re away from home.
Devadas: I will always remember the day you decided to stay with me.
Hellen and Devadas reached their hands to one another and gave a small smile.
Bandit: Ok thanks for the food. We’re looking at a long night ahead of us so we better catch some sleep while we can.
Herostalker: Agreed.
Hellen: It is getting late. I should get Amala settled in for the night.
The team was lead to their separate rooms so they could sleep before their late night begins. Several hours later Alice woke when she heard a tap at the window and saw Herostalker looking in.
Alice: Herostalker, isn’t this room on the third floor?
Herostalker: It is. Alice I need to ask you is your door locked?
Alice went to the door and just as she tried to open it she found that it was locked.
Alice: Yes and I think it was locked from outside the room.
Herostalker: Same thing happened to the rest of us. Open the window and I’ll help you down.
Alice opened the window and saw that Herostalker was using his elemental pistol that had a thick green vine coming out of the barrel going up to the roof. Alice held onto Herostalker and he pulled on the trigger carefully lowering them to the ground where Bandit and Otto were waiting.
Herostalker: good to see you guys got out. That little set back put my stealth down to three minutes.
Bandit: What gives with that anyway? Were here to put down a werewolf and they lock us in our rooms?
Herostalker: I’m not sure. For the time being they think we’re their prisoners for now. Let’s just find the werewolf and ask them about this later.
It grew dark as the team made its way into the city. The streets were deserted with the only light coming from the street lamps.
Herostalker: Alright let’s split up to cover more ground. We know the werewolf has attacked cows so will start at the market place and expand from there. Keep in contact using the communicators. If you find the werewolf just press the all contacts function to alert the rest of us where it is. Otto and I will be tasked with holding the werewolf while Bandit delivers the silver bullet finishing.
Alice: What about me?
Bandit: (loading clips of silver bullets into glocks) Have you ever fired a gun before?
Alice: No.
Herostalker: Just help with finding the werewolf and will take care of the rest.
They reached the market district but before they could split into different directions they heard a loud howl accompanied by the sounds of electricity. Just around a corner were eight men wearing suits and shades with shaved heads prodding the werewolf with electric cattle prods and snaring its legs with metal cords.
Herostalker: There from Mr. Anonymous. They must be here to bring in his werewolf.
Bandit: No there not!
Bandit shoved his glocks into his hoody pocket and pulled out an automatic rifle from his knapsack opening fire into the scene.
Herostalker: Bandit, wait! Guys try to get in there and contain the werewolf. I’m going to try and control the robots.
Herostalker accessed his power over machinery to have the robots in the truck to deactivate. Bandit had already shot and destroyed the robots using the cattle prods. Otto and Alice ran forward just as Bandit shot the robots holding the cords. They took hold of the two cords holding the werewolf’s front legs. Then with a sudden pull the werewolf threw Alice into Otto causing them to lose balance with Alice on top of Otto and his arms around her. Otto could feel Alice up against him and his inherited reflexes reacted pulling her closer to him.
Alice: Otto let me go. You’re too tight.
Herostalker rushed over to separate the entangled pair while the werewolf sprinted to its escape. Bandit pulled out one of the glocks loaded with the silver bullets and took aim at the werewolf but Devadas rushed in pulling Bandit’s arm into the sky before firing.
Devadas: No!
Herostalker fired a shot of sleep touch from the elemental revolver just next to Otto’s head with the gas going down wind into Otto’s airways. The delayed effects from the indirect shot caused Otto to release his grip on Alice which Herostalker pulled to her feet and asked her to step back before brining Otto to a sitting position.
Herostalker: That was a little close there.
Otto held his head a little dizzy from the sleep gas then gave a look to Herostalker that said he was sorry that had to happen.
Herostalker: Come on pale let’s get you on your feet.
Alice: What was that about?
Herostalker: It was an inherited reflex. Otto didn’t mean to harm you Alice and he’s sorry that it happened.
Bandit: Alright pale out with it why are you trying so hard to protect that werewolf?
Devadas: You cannot kill the creature because it is my little girl Amala.
Herostalker: The werewolf is your daughter?
Devadas: Yes. If you will help me retrieve her and bring her back to the mansion I will tell you everything.
The team gets into Devadas’ car and tracks the werewolf Amala until they find her at sunrise passed out at the edge of the city. Herostalker took off his coat and handed it to Devadas which he used to wrap around Amala. Herostalker offered to drive while Devadas sat in the back middle seat holding Amala with Otto and Alice on either side of him and Bandit in the passenger seat. Once they returned to the mansion Hellen was waiting at the front gate and went to Devadas to carry Amala to her room. The team then meet with Hellen and Devadas in the deputy superintendent’s study.
Herostalker: Alright Devadas try to tell us how Amala became a werewolf.
Devadas: Just a month ago the night lilies were in bloom and Amala wanted to see them in the light of the full moon. We were watching her from the sitting room and all seemed to be well until she left our sight for only a few secants when we heard her scream. When we came to her we found her with a bite on her arm next to a large sickly dog. Amala was brought back into the house and I returned to the garden with as many men is I could from the mansion staff but when we returned to where we found the beast all that was left were bones.
Devadas opened a drawer of his desk and pulled out a large wolf skull.
Devadas: This is all that is left of the accursed creature. The following night we heard a loud commotion coming from Amala’s room. When we checked on her we found a beast as tall as a man on its hind legs covered in shreds of Amala’s clothes but her nowhere to be found. As the creature fled from the mansion I followed it and at sunrise to my surprise the creature turned into my little girl before my very eyes. When she awakens she remembers nothing of the night before. Every night we try to keep her locked in a different room of the mansion but no matter where we place her she gets out and attacks the cows.
Alice: It’s better than her attacking another person right?
Herostalker: Directly yes, indirectly no. although its good Amala isn’t killing people cows are a sacred creature to Buddhism. If anyone were to find out the cows were being killed by a person the consequences could be drastic.
Devadas: (teary eyed) It pains me to think of my daughter as that horrible creature. But the thought of losing her is more than I can bear. What god would take such a small and innocent little girl and turn her into a monster.
Devadas put his face into his hands as Hellen put her arms around him.
Bandit: I hate to be the guy that brings up bad news but tonight is the full moon meaning little Amala will become an official werewolf. Whatever she did in the past month is just a warm up act to what will happen after tonight. Killing cows can be translated over into killing humans.
Hellen: Is there any way to undo this offal curse.
Herostalker: There are only two identified cures for werewolves. One would be if Amala bite the werewolf that bit her.
Bandit: We all know that’s not going to work.
Herostalker: The other cure is a werewolf antidote owned and controlled by count Dracula.
Bandit: Good but also not going to work. That antidote is one of his most prized possessions. It will take either killing everyone associated to him or owing a greater evil a favor. Being indebted to a guy that feeds on people’s blood doesn’t sit well with me. So as it stands either it’s let the werewolf live or put a silver bullet through the heart of a little girl.
Herostalker: We can’t kill her Bandit.
Bandit: You mean “you” can’t kill her.
Herostalker: Bandit are you so devoid of humanity that you would kill a small child?
Bandit: Hey! I don’t want to cross that line but if it has to be done I’ll do it!
Herostalker: Lycanthropy acts like a disease we need to treat it as such!
Alice: Wait what about the nanites?
Bandit: What about them?
Herostalker: Come again?
Alice: Bandit’s nanites can restore a person to peak physical condition. Does that also mean it removes diseases?
Herostalker: In theory the nanites would purge a subject of any ailments.
Bandit: They can do it.
Devadas: Could these be used to help Amala.
Bandit: If they have a healthy reference to compare to they could be able to change her back to normal but only when her werewolf side is active.
The idea was a long shot but it was a chance to help this family and save Amala from a monstrous fate. They cleared out the lowest room of the mansion and made sure all of the doors and windows were sealed and barricaded. Bandit had his nanites scan Devadas and Hellen to use as a genetic reference of what Amala should be. As dusk approached the mansion servants were dismissed for the evening and Amala was lead into the empty basement.
Herostalker: Amala your parents along with my friends and I are going to help you with a problem you’ve been having. If you let us help you and follow along with what we need you to do we can get through this. Do you understand?
Amala: yes.
Herostalker: That’s good. Now first thing I need you to stand against that back wall and reach your arms as high as you can.
Amala went over to the back wall and faced everyone then reached her arms above her head. Herostalker then pulled out the elemental revolver and fired two shots of a sticky black substance that pinned Amala’s hands to the back wall.
Herostalker: Alright that should hold her. Bandit, get ready with the nanites.
Bandit: If you don’t mind I would like to pass that task onto someone else. I’ll guard from the rear in case the worst should happen.
Bandit placed the nanites canister into Alice’s hands before walking over to the basement door and leaned up against it with a hand resting on one of the glocks holding the silver bullets.
Herostalker: Alright, Alice when you see Amala start to turn into a werewolf inject her with the nanites.
Alice: Ok.
Time slowly passed by as they waited in the dark room.
Herostalker: Devadas how much time is there until moon rise?
Devadas: The full moon should be rising in 3… 2… 1…
Amala shouted as her body rapidly began to grow in size. Amala’s arms and legs grew longer, her chest wider, and claws began to poke out from the edges where the umbral tar that held Amala’s hands. The wall around where the tar was holding Amala’s hands began to crack.
Bandit: Hero I thought you said that stuff would hold her.
Herostalker: Her normally yes but her change in appearance has compromised the strength of the wall she is attached to. She’ll break free any secant we need to inject the nanites now!
Alice was about to run forward with the nanites when Amala pulled the section of wall her hands had pinned to. Herostalker pulled Alice back before the wild werewolf could harm her. The canister of nanites fell landing on the auto release button sending them out into the air as a cloud around Amala.
Bandit: Nanites are loose, there not in position to alter the target! The plans a fail, only one option left. (Cocks gun)
Devadas: No! Don’t shoot my child!
Devadas runs toward Amala and puts arms around her in a hug.
Devadas: Amala… please if you can hear me. Come back to your father. The happiest day in my life was when I held you in my arms for the first time. I watched you grow over the most joyous years this place has known. To god… to any god… please let me have my daughter back so that she knows how much her family loves her.
At that moment the cloud of nanites began to glow blue and draw closer to Devadas and Amala.
Hellen: What’s happening?
Herostalker: I think the nanites are applying Devadas genetic information to restore Amala back to normal.
As the glow faded leaving a thick cloud of nanites Herostalker picked up the canister and pressed the return button sucking the nanites back in before closing. Once the nanites were cleared Devadas was kneeling down holding Amala returned to normal in his arms.
Amala: Father?
Devadas: Oh my sweet little girl… the nightmare is over.
Bandit: So how are we going to explain this to the superintendent?
Herostalker: I have an idea.
The next morning at the Superintendent’s office the wolf skull from Devadas study was placed in front of the Superintendent.
Herostalker: Here’s your monster.
Bandit: What’s left of him anyway.
Superintendent: This is what has been attacking our cows?
Herostalker: Yes sir.
Bandit: Yep.
Superintendent: By Kali such utter and complete carnage against a simple beast. You are very violent individuals. I will pay you for elimination of this danger but I hope never to have to hire you for such a deed again.
The Superintendent wrote them a check and the team left the office.
Herostalker: Mission well done team. We saved the town from a monster and helped one family cure their daughter.
Bandit: But no Mr. Anonymous.
The team went back onboard the Golden Horizon bound for their next destination. Meanwhile somewhere in the city a cold dark room was being opened and illuminated to show rows of dead cows suspended on hooks. Entering this room were the two men that were tasked with gathering the cows killed by the beast before being followed by Mr. Anonymous.
Mr. Anonymous: Are these all of the cows killed by the creature?
First man: Yes, over the past month we have been searching the city for every cow killed from the night before.
Secant man: Why would you have us keep these cows rather than have them buried or cremated?
Mr. Anonymous: Gentlemen you think far too small. Only to you and this city are they only dead cows but in truth they were cows killed by a locally made werewolf. Every last one of these carcasses contains a trace amount of werewolf infection in them.
First man: Werewolves, but this is madness?
Mr. Anonymous: Indeed. Meat that if consumed could cause people to be driven mad with an endless hunger for meat.
Secant man: If this is true then we must eliminate all of these bodies now before they pass into unknowing hands.
Mr. Anonymous: Oh but that was the plan all along.
Two gun shots were fired killing the two men before several men with shaved heads wearing suits entered.
Mr. Anonymous: take all of the beef my puppets. Will have it ground up at our leisure then sell to hungry masses to make them ravenous masses.
Man14: What of the humans?
